UV LEDs are growing rapidly
Ultraviolet radiation refers to electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths less than purple wavelengths, wavelengths range from 100 to 380 nm, which can be divided into long-wave ultraviolet (UVA, 315-380 nm), medium-wave ultraviolet (UVB, 280 to 315) nm), short-wave ultraviolet (UVC, 200-280 nm), vacuum ultraviolet (VUV, 100-200 nm) 4 bands, the corresponding ultraviolet light source is called long-wave, medium-wave, short-wave and vacuum ultraviolet light source.

Long-wave UV light sources are mainly medium-pressure mercury lamps, short-arc ultra-high-pressure mercury lamps, xenon lamps, UV halogen lamps, UVLED, etc., which are mainly used in ultraviolet curing, photochemical synthesis, printed circuit board exposure and fluorescence testing and so on. Mid-wave ultraviolet light source mainly refers to ultraviolet fluorescent lamp, it has erythema effect and health effect, generally suitable for medical care. Short-wave
UV light sources include hot cathode and cold cathode low pressure mercury lamps, which are mainly used for disinfection, fluorescence analysis and photochemistry.
Hot cathode low pressure mercury lamp is currently produced and applied a large amount of ultraviolet light source, in the air, drinking water and wastewater sterilization is widely used. Vacuum UV light sources are mainly xenon lamps and xenon quasi-molecular lamps, which are used in the excitation of photoelectronic energy spectrometers, ozone occurrence, vacuum UV wavelength standards and light cleaning.
In recent years, UVLED has been rapid development, radiation efficiency and power density has been greatly improved. UVALED radiation efficiency is high, the price has been reduced to the appropriate level, has entered the mainstream application. UVB and UVC band UVLED radiation efficiency is not high, expensive, is still in the research and development stage.
