Sterilization principle of UVC

UVC band of ultraviolet, also known as short wave sterilization ultraviolet, strong sterilization effect is provided by UVC band. Due to the high photon energy of 200-280 nm, when it irradiates microorganisms, it can penetrate the cell membrane and nucleus of microorganisms, destroy the DNA molecules, and make them lose the ability of replication or activity and die. Ultraviolet germicidal lamp is through ultraviolet radiation sterilization.

The germicidal efficacy of ultraviolet sterilization depends on the intensity of light (illumination) and the accumulation of light exposure time (accumulated light or ultraviolet exposure). The longer the light exposure time is, the more accumulated light, the better the germicidal efficacy is. On the contrary, the shorter the illumination time, the less the accumulated light, the worse the bactericidal effect. Therefore, in order to kill bacteria in a short period of time, it needs very strong UV.
